"Brennende Drommer" is an excellent, sophisticated Progressive Rock album, though melodic and accessible. One of the main characteristics of Mikromidas is to sing exclusively in it's mother tongue, which makes it appear as the real successor of KERRS PINK.

This band is from Norway, the Western part of Scandinavia, known for its 'fjords' and 'Vikings'. The music on the debut-CD "Brennende Drommer" () is very melodic and harmonic carat symphonic rock. The sound is loaded with Hammond and Mellotron, often the early BARCLAY JAMES & HARVEST comes to my mind/5.

The opening Incognito City has a harder rocking sound than most of the album with its bluesy organ sound while Dvergenes Palass is the first track that utilises the mellotron. Hearing this instrument brings into play obvious references such as early King Crimson as well as bands such as Anekdoten.

The sound on the debut-CD "Brennende Drommer" is loaded with Hammond and Mellotron, often the early BARCLAY JAMES & HARVEST comes to my mind. But the emotional Norwegian vocals and the layers of violin Mellotron also evokes the work of fellow Scandinavians LANDBERK and ANGLAGARD.

Despite forming in , it took Mikromidas until to release their debut, Brennende Drømmer, but it was worth the wait. I've seen comparisons to Änglagård et al., but the only real one is in their choice of instrumentation, specifically Hammond and Mellotron.
